FOLSOM STREET HOUSING, 2004
SAN FRANCISCO, CA
3 new townhouses were completed in the Mission District, while acting as Project Designer/ Manager for Paulett Taggart Architects. The townhouses are market-rate rental homes that face onto Horace Alley. The wide lot is modulated by expressing every residence as its own volume, each with its own standing-seam shed roof and recessed entryway. The ground level houses a garage, bedroom and office that opens onto a landscaped courtyard. The living level of the townhouses is located on the top level to take advantage of the northern light from the shed roof structure. A cantilevered deck on the upper level extends into the courtyard.
